Hi, I’m Lauren, a.k.a. redjotter
I started redjotter in August of 2008 as a way to document my summer work with DesignThinkers and share my ideas with the world. Little did I know that it would eventually grow into a popular service design journal attracting over 250,000 visitors.
I grew up in Ayrshire and studied Innovative Product Design at The University of Dundee. In 2009, I graduated with Distinction from Masters of Design from The University of Dundee.
In winter 2009 I co-founded Snook with Sarah Drummond. Together we have built MyPolice , The Matter, Badge Maker, Nightriders and Dearest Scotland. Seven years on Snook works from studios in Glasgow and London. In 2015, I left Snook to build a new MA in Digital Experience Design at Hyper Island in Manchester.
My drive comes from my belief in people and my unwavering determination that things can be better.
In 2014 I graduated from the Entrepreneurship Development Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Sloan School of Management. My project Nightriders was recognised as a Nesta New Radical 2014. Last year Management Today featured me as one of the UK’s top business women under 35 and this year ELLE featured me as one of 30 women under 30 changing the world.
I’m now working on my own projects with my own clients. To be continued… ;)
I always carry a red moleskin. Because of the popularity of my blog, I am often referred to as redjotter. That makes me happy.
Thank you for reading!
